  1. I love Halloween!! As a kid I always dressed as a witch! Something I had a fascination with . So as an adult, I’ve continued that trend. I dress up as different witches every year to greet the little goblins coming for treats! Such a magical time of year 🎃❤️

  2. Cat lady here, so I’ve always wanted to wear a catwoman costume… not done it yet!
Congratulations on the release, Joanna. Sounds really good

  3. As much as I love the holiday, I never really got a chance to dress up/celebrate it like I wanted as a kid or an adult. The ultimate costume I’d aspire to create or wear would be of Rot Lop Fan, a Green Lantern who comes from a far-corner of space so dark and remote, there’s no light and so no concept of it or color so he’s the only member of a light-based hero group who can’t work with that power source. I totally empathized with being the oddball outlier😊

  4. I would love to dress up as Anita Blake from the series of the same name by Laurell K Hamilton. Her outfit for the fight scene in The Killing Dance was described so badass.

  5. I’ve very rarely dressed up for Halloween, but I loved my husband’s response when he arrived at a party unaware that everyone was dressed up. He quickly grabbed a lampshade, put it on his head, and spent all party standing as a standard lamp!

  6. My Hallowe’en costume of choice is as an imminent deadline. Since I and many people I know are terrified by approaching deadlines, it seems like a good properly scary costume. Also, contains the word dead, should anyone quibble that it isn’t actually that spooky.
(I love deadlines, but only in a Douglas Adams sense.)

  7. I’ve always wanted to a full princess style costume with skirts large enough to not fit through doorways. Also has the perk of enforcing social distancing.

  8. Very excited to read TCC this weekend! I wrote my thesis on John Keats, whose birthday was on Halloween, so in graduate school I was always a haunted Keats scholar for Halloween — so basically myself plus ghostly makeup.

  9. As a child of the eighties I was a Rubik’s cube once. I wore a large square box with pieces of different colored construction paper. I was an unsolved cube, of course.

  11. I once went to a party dressed as Aladdin in a homemade outfit with an Aladdin’s lamp too. Not too shabby if I say so myself 😂 I wonder what happened to the lamp 🤔

  12. I never really dressed up for Halloween, but one of the few times I did, I dressed up as a fairy with wings I made myself with wire and tissue paper. I’m lucky it didn’t rain that year.

  13. Oh, that sounds lovely!

I dressed up as a bleached blonde hair once, all pale yellow with black rubber boots, but recently I saw a picture of a kid holding their own head on a platter – the platter was just under their chin and the costume extended up to a headless torso – and that’s just brilliant.

  14. Halloween sadly isn’t celebrated where I live but I’ve always loved the idea of the holiday and celebrating all things spooky!
As a Potterhead child I’d always wanted to dress up as one of my absolute favourite characters from the Potterverse – Hermoine!
Now that I’m somewhat of an adult, I’d love to dress up as something all procrastinators like me dread, the Clock! 😂

  15. I’ve never really been into dressing up, but I knew someone who had some unusual costumes. Once she dressed as a wad of chewing gum stuck under a table, and once as a road, complete with cars and roadkill.

  16. My favorite Halloween costume I ever wore was the cat Oliver from the animated movie “Oliver and Company”. I had a little headband with cat ears and a tail, which was pretty much the coolest thing ever for a kindergartner 🙂

  17. I guess my favorite costume would be my most recent one (about 6 years ago). Hubby and I dressed up like vampires and we won a contest for scariest costume!

  19. The best costume i ever did was a jellyfish. We used an umbrella as the body and hung loads of ribbons an fabric off it and i stood under it and moved it up and down to make it look like it was floating.
