We’re calling this one a Lemon Tart / Cinnamon Roll romance… see below for a chance to win a signed copy and gift bag!

Prize: The winner of this contest will receive a signed paperback ofΒ Home Grown TalentΒ and a mystery gift bag, the theme of which is… based on the book!
To enter: just leave a comment telling me whether you’re more of a Lemon Tart or a Cinnamon Roll and why.
This contest is available to all, wherever you may be in the world. I’ll choose a winner on 1st September, 5pm GMT.
Winners will be announced here and also in my next newsletter.
Good luck!

Cinnamon roll because I love a guilty pleasure π

Lemon tart because I am more prone to sarcastic speeches than love notes.

Probably a lemon tart, because I feel like I’m not sweet enough to be a cinnamon roll.

Oooh fun question – it’s like that Ted Lasso “lion or panda bear” S1 episode π So: I’m definitely a lemon tart because I prefer to tell the unvarnished, lip-puckering truth if I care about someone BUT I’ll try to sweeten the end of the truth session with good news &/or suggestions that might help. Also – if the truth session is with an EXTREMELY lucky lover – who knows.. I could be a sweet tart and make it allllll better afterwards π€ππ PS: Thanks for everything Joanna & Sally – I adore your novels and I love escaping to the worlds you build in your amazing fics! ππ€

I would go with lemon tart, as I really do not like cinnamon. But analogy wise I would have to admit I am an equali mestre of both π

Lemon tart: I’m sharp, acerbic and for many people, something of an aquired taste.

I’ll say lemon tart because my hubby thinks I’m too critical and have a sharp tongue. LOL

Cinnamon roll! The intensity of the cinnamon goop represents hyperfixation, and then the mellow dough is everything else. Separately they’re unpalatably intense/bland, respectively, but together they’re marvelous – and the contrast is part of the experience. Mixing the cinnamon into the dough results in an entirely different pastry. (And sometimes I can be oversweet but when I’m well-balanced I’m splendid.)
(Also, tartiness is sort of aspirational but I’m not social enough to make it work in real life.)

Ok, if we’re going by the romance trope, I am definitely a cinnamon roll (also I like them better), because I’m sweet, honest, considerate and all that. Thinking realistically, I’d say I’m more of a lemon tart – I’m not one flavor all through, have a lot of contrasts, and definitely have a sharp edge or two!
