Oh, good lord! Beguiled comes out in one week (Christmas Eve!) and really – is it really upon me? Already?
It’s been an extraordinarily busy few months for lots of reasons, one of which has been that I have been busily writing the final book in this trilogy. I can confirm (at least) that Enlightened has been submitted on time and will release as scheduled in May next year. And yes, it is a final book. No false endings.
At some point I’d like to blog about some of the thoughts and ideas that have driven this series, but now probably isn’t the time.
I will, however, do a Beguiled giveaway later this week!

Hey Joanna! I very much enjoyed Beguiled – the King’s visit was a great setting, both magical and hilarious. I also loved the feminist plot line (I won’t give spoilers!), and hope we see Elizabeth again in the final book.You have a real gift for historicals Joanna, which really takes us to another place and time. You manage to surround the narrative with a keen sense of the intellectual and political developments of the time — yet you don’t weigh it down. Human passions are always at the center, just given more resonance because we understand more fully what makes these people tick. I hope you have more grand ideas in the pipeline. I’d be happy to be a beta reader for you!
